Nissan today launched the Sentra at an event that made good use of the audiovisual dynamics of the Reel Cinema at the Dubai Mall. The compact car brings premium early in the buying cycle with standard features like electrically operated mirrors, halogen headlamps, keyless entry, rear headrests and a rear leg space that could put midsize sedans to shame.

Offering a choice of 1.8 L and 1.6 L four-cylinder engines, the Nissan Sentra employs a “next-generation” Xtronic CVT transmission and has a compression ratio of 9.9: 1 that promises class-leading fuel efficiency.

The 1.8L engine lets out 130 bhp and 174 Nm of net torque while the 1.6L variant offers 113 and 154.

While the Sentra 2013 follows the new genes of Nissan design with a rounded exterior with hints of muscularity, what the carmaker will count on is the generous enhancement of the cabin with tons of features that sparingly adorn cars that are one or two segments above it. Push button start is present in most models but once you go for the top end or the optional features, premium kicks in with optional navigation, Bluetooth, rear view camera, dual zone air conditioning, cruise control and sunroof. While two airbags are standard in base versions, they go up to six.

Nissan Sentra is labeled compact sedan and looks that way. Step inside and rear legroom and features could challenge some luxury sedans!

Looks like the Nissan Sentra 2013 is the Japanese carmaker’s answer to the profusion of features that crowd the affordable cars segment dominated by the Koreans. Nissan Sentra Price wasn’t available at the time of publishing this article.

After last year's Maxima and Altima, this is Nissan's third strategic sedan launch in the Middle East.
