Stellantis has issued a ‘Stop Drive’ notice to certain Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, Jeep®, Opel and RAM vehicles manufactured between 2003 and 2018. The recall is a preventive measure following global safety assessments related to Takata airbag inflators. Authorized service centers across the Middle East will provide free repairs for all affected vehicles. Stellantis Middle East has urged owners of certain high-risk vehicles to check their website status and complete the recall repair as soon as possible.

WHAT IS THE ISSUE?

Takata airbag inflators may degrade over time, particularly in hot and humid climates. (All the more reason for Middle East customers to check their status right away). In rare cases, a ruptured inflator can project metal fragments during a collision, posing a risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

Owners of vehicles under the following brands and models, manufactured between 2003 and 2018,  are urged to verify whether their vehicle is affected. Stellantis has launched a VIN Check Tool, available online at www.recall.stellantis.com/#/takata to assist customers in identifying the affected vehicles. All Middle East customers of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM can also check their status through the Mopar Middle East recall platform.

If the vehicle is confirmed to be affected, customers should contact their nearest authorized dealer to schedule a free airbag replacement. Owners of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM vehicles may also book appointments through the Mopar Middle East website. Stellantis and its dealer partners across the region are equipped to take care of the repair right away with increased service capacity, parts availability and customer support.
