The fastest, most powerful, and dynamic Rolls-Royce in history

Benchmark is a term that is synonymous with the Rolls-Royce. Just as perfection, distinction and discreetness are. Yet again, Rolls-Royce lived up to its definition of the elite by leaving a bunch of privileged media men, dazed in its haloed presence. Wraith, the most powerful and dynamic Rolls-Royce in history was unveiled to the region this morning (Tuesday the 28th). AGMC, the authorized dealer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates was bestowed with the privilege. The ‘unveiling’ happened ever so discreetly, and literally, as the drapes were simply pulled off it by the flanking female aides.

With 625 hp and 800 Nm torque, the Wraith can touch a 100 kmph in 4.6 sec

Power, style and drama… those were the key words for the Wraith, along with a hint of noir while maintaining the hallmark Rolls-Royce attributes of luxury, refinement and hand-craftsmanship. “Today we launch the ultimate gentlemen’s gran turismo, a car that embodies the spirit of Charles Stewart Rolls.” commented Geoffrey Briscoe, Regional Director, Middle East, Africa and Latin America, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.”

The most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, Wraith promises the sense of adventure and speed that drove our founding forefather - says Geoffrey, Regional Director of the brand.

“Wraith will definitely attract a new demographic to the brand, it is a car that will appeal to a slightly younger audience…” said Osman Abdelmoneim , General Manager, AGMC. The Dubai and northern Emirates dealer is the first to unveil the Wraith in the region, marking their milestone of decade-long collaboration between Rolls-Royce.

Wraith’s sweeping fastback design gives the car its distinguished-aggressive character. Bold lines, tension in the panels and a raked rear screen, along with its accented grille, wide rear track and dramatic two-tone presentation flaunt its dynamic disposition. The Wraith is driven by a V12 engine married to an 8-speed automatic ZF transmission, yielding 624 bhp compared with 563 bhp for the Ghost. The new Rolls-Royce gets to 100 kmph on its classic-styled speedo-sphere in 4.6 seconds, while the Ghost takes 4.7. The Wraith generates 800 Nm of torque quite early in the cycle (1500 rpm onwards) while the Ghost gets 20 Nm less. A wide rear track, shorter wheelbase and lower roof height further keep the Wraith on top of the power spectrum. The car’s suspension has been tuned to minimise body roll and amplify cornering feedback while the steering is progressively graded in weight in relation to speed.

Rolls Royce Wraith luxurious cabin comfort

One only needs to settle down into its soft leather seats to be enwrapped in luxury, like silken sirens embracing you tightly, yet ever so softly.

The Starlight Headliner, available beyond the Phantom family cars for the first time, features 1,340 fibre optic lamps hand-woven into the roof lining to give the impression of a glittering, starry night sky. But of course, this indulgence couldn’t be enjoyed in the noontime ambience of the showroom.

Cabin assistance

The debutant Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) technology uses GPS data to see beyond what the driver sees; anticipate his next move based on location and current driving style, and select the most appropriate gear for what lies ahead.

Rolls Royce Wraith steering

The effortless driving style of the Wraith promises to bring a more dynamic dimension to the famous Rolls-Royce trait, waftability.

While head-up display, adaptive headlights and a keyless opening boot are almost commonplace these days, improvements in connectivity have taken the human-machine interface to a new level of sophistication. You can set the car in motion to your destination of choice with a voice command like “navigate to Piccadilly in London.”

Additional improvements in communications come in the design and functionality of the elegant Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller. This allows navigation through on-screen functions using a touch pad that features pinch and pull functionality to echo smart phone usage. Letters can also be ‘drawn’ onto the pad by hand rather than by scrolling through characters on-screen.
