With progressive, contemporary exterior styling and engaging driving dynamics, the Camry is designed to surprise. Overall, Toyota seems to be in good shape.

Dubai, November 11th 2011: The all new Camry 2012 made its regional debut at the first day of Dubai Motor Show revealing its pleasantly surprising design – sophisticated and sporty – complemented by spacious interiors, and claims to offer improved driving dynamics and a quieter ride.

Toyota launches new Camry with impressive design

Introduced twenty years ago, the Camry has evolved over six generations to become the benchmark as a comfortable midsize family car, due to its legendary durability, reliability, and unrivalled resale value. It has also been the flagship brand of UAE’s taxis, touting the face of the country’s tourism hospitality. Focused on bold design and dynamic driving, the all-new 2012 Camry ushers in a new “ERA Sedan Concept”, a coinage that stands for “Emotional” and “RAtional”, integrating the car’s character as a brand of choice and practicality.

Speaking at the Motor Show unveil ceremony, Andrew Squires National Sales & Marketing manager at Al-Futtaim Motors Toyota said, “The Camry, to a lot of people, isn’t just a car; It’s a part of their personality, life, and family

The Camry, to a lot of people, isn’t just a car; It's a part of their personality, life, and family."

Toyota Performance

According to Squires, the company enjoys a market share close to 41% in the UAE. He added: “Since the second quarter, production has returned to normal (in Japan) and as a result Al-Futtaim Toyota is again showing healthy increases in sales comparable to the same period last year registering 15% growth. Core vehicles such as Toyota Corolla continues to maintain its domination over the UAE market, with an impressive 33% share of the medium sedan segment. In the 4×4 market, the iconic Land Cruiser and the Prado continue to hold the number one position in their market segments.

Leading the compact car segment, with around 28,000 units sold since its launch in November 2005 in the UAE, Yaris Hatchback continues to change the local scene of the compact segment.

Limited Edition Land Cruiser

The Motor Show also witnessed the launch of a limited edition Land Cruiser to mark the UAE 40th National Day. For the past 62 years, the exceptional off-roader has enjoyed a special relationship with the UAE and Toyota has designed this as a tribute to the country. The Limited Edition Land Cruiser comes fitted with attractive exterior and interior accessories that reflect the UAE colors, symbols and spirit.

Toyota FT-86 concept uses a 2 L engine for phenomenal performance

Concept Car

Another great attraction from Toyota is the FT86 concept car. Scheduled to be available for the UAE’s sporting enthusiasts during 2012, FT86 is entirely driver-oriented, and designed to thrill through precise instantaneous response to even the smallest throttle or steering input. Rather than relying on a heavy, large displacement engine for its performance, it combines a free-revving, 2.0 L petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission with compact dimensions, light weight and a low centre of gravity for the best possible driving experience.

Hybrid Synergy Drive

Also sharing the spot light in the Toyota stand is the special showcase of Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive. In line with its Japanese respect for the planet, Toyota continues striving to minimize environmental impact throughout the vehicle life cycle, from the manufacturing of new cars to the effective use of resources.

Special attractions

When you visit the Motor Show, don’t miss the “Xtreme Zone” showcasing FJ Cruiser, Hilux and Land Cruiser models that have been specially modified to honour the UAE’s passion for Toyota’s legendary ruggedness.
