Icons of Porsche 3rd edition scheduled for November 25-26
Dubai, Oct 2023: This year’s edition will be made special by a world premiere, the largest number of classic Porsches and a supercar showcase lead by the Mission X hypercar concept. Moreover, it also marks the 75th Anniversary of Porsche by embracing the theme “Dream in Full Colour”. Icons of Porsche will be held again at Dubai Design District (D3), where it welcomed more than 15,000 visitors last year. IMI-Accredited Electric Mobility Training Centre launched
Dubai, UAE, 9 October 2023: As a part of its efforts to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem in the UAE, Al-Futtaim Automotive has set up the region’s first IMI-accredited Electric Mobility Training Centre at its Learning & Development facility in Dubai, UAE. On road to developing confidence in any new technology, well trained support staff with adequate expertise is a vital contributor and all brands wanting to further their interest in electric mobility – hybrid or pure – should make it a priority on their agenda.
Requiring a multi-million Dirham investment, the Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Training Centre is being developed in partnership with the internationally recognised EV qualification body, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), and state-of-the-art learning solutions provider, Lucas-Nulle. At the centre, automotivetechnicians will receive immersive training conducted by IMI-certified trainers that covers the intricacies of electric drivetrains, battery management systems, and software diagnostics. The state-of-the-art laboratory at the centre features the most advanced art simulation equipment as well as a cut-away electric vehicle that showcases various components of the high-voltage systems.
OffRoad-Zone marks 2nd international Off-Road day
Sharjah, 9th October: OffRoad-Zone, the off-road products and services provider in the UAE, hosted an enthusiast’s get-together on the International Off-Road Day at the XQuarry Adventure Park in Sharjah, UAE. Adventurers and explorers from all over the UAE gathered to celebrate the day with an array of fun-filled community-building activities in this space for bold adventure.
The entertaining challenges included a desert expedition drive challenging the dunes and a rugged terrain trek that tested and honed off-roading skills of the participants. Besides the adrenaline rush, the best-performing teams and individuals received exciting prizes, too.
With a current community boasting over 600 members, OffRoad Zone engages in weekly desert drives and various off-roading activities, fostering a sense of camaraderie and adventure among its members. They believe such events contribute to collective learning and sharing of experiences and foster responsible and environmentally-conscious off-roading practices.
