I don’t suffer from separation anxiety when it comes to mobile phones. So my trepid fingers, as I handed over my phone at the Rolls-Royce desk at Abu Dhabi Motors, suggested anticipation not anxiety. I willingly let them pull the wool over my wristwatch lest it inadvertently hurt the lustrous paintwork of the majestic vehicle waiting inside to be unveiled. Unveiled before us, the fortunate few, who were getting to see it even before the global reveal.
Sometime before the teaser video ended, the black shroud was lifted and there stood, high and mighty, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The high-bodied vehicle had a presence that filled the little private theatre of Abu Dhabi Motors and my unblinking eyes. For once, none of us had a camera to reach for hurriedly or a phone to grab! Our eyes had their fill, hands were teased, and bodies were pleased as we sank into the luxury that will wrap many billionaire bottoms.
I noticed how elegantly and meticulously was the silhouette in the Cullinan’s logo shaped in metal. At the rear, the already fabled ‘best seats in town’ unfolded themselves before me. [Read about them in an earlier release from Rolls-Royce.] Inside the Rolls-Royce carriage, there were still more stories, waiting to be told. But that’s reserved for another day. Hopefully, before the first Cullinan is taken possession of by its owner towards the end of the year.
