Have you traveled in a car that has clocked hundreds of thousands of kilometres? I have seen figures close to half a million several times and twice, over half a million! Of course all were taxis and most of the time, it was a Toyota Camry! Well, Toyota’s legendary long-term reliability recently touched a new high when a Land Cruiser Pick-up closed in on the 1 million km mark. This Land Cruiser pick up owned by Dubai Government Workshop has been used for farming and transportation purposes for 9 years.
Commenting on this milestone, Simon Frith, Managing Director, Al-Futtaim Motors Toyota said, “The achievement is not limited to the amount of kilometers this car covered but also the low cost of maintenance which is less than AED 0.101 per kilometer.” As more comfort and technology features have been introduced, Land Cruiser evolved from just being an off-road vehicle to becoming a full size luxury SUV.
Al-Futtaim Motors had recently launched the new 2013 Land Cruiser Pick-up which came with a host of new features such as a double cab option, glove box cooler, tyre inflation facility, a new tow hook and enhanced styling.
