The ultimate chick magnet and style statement just got bigger and better, as it proved on stage when it was revealed at Meydan Hotel, Dubai last Wednesday. The flagship of Maserati is not only larger, lighter, more luxurious and more spacious, it is a practical supercar with a 307 km/h top speed. With the original Quattroporte in 1963 defining the luxury sports car segment for the first time, the new version celebrates its 50 years by setting new benchmarks.
The Maserati Quattroporte has a starting price of AED 525,000 and will be available at Al Tayer Motors’ showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
Its V8 twin turbo makes it not only the fastest four-door Maserati ever built, but also the most economical as well. The direct-injection engine family will boast an all new 3.8-litre V8 and a twin turbo charged 3.0-litre V6, designed by the Maserati Powertrain experts and assembled by Ferrari at Maranello.
The sixth-generation Quattroporte incorporates the high-technology tone that sets the tone for its future offerings, while remaining faithful to Maserati’s half a century history in luxury sports sedans.
The 3.8-litre V8 engine with an 8-speed transmission provides Maserati’s new performance benchmark, reaching The bigger engine helps the car attain 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds and is 20km/h faster than the Quattroporte Sport GT S and has up to 200Nm more torque as well. The V6 will be available in both rear wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The all-new architecture retains the Quattroporte’s traditionally exquisite handling thanks to its 50:50 weight distribution, a double-wishbone front suspension, and a state-of-the-art five-link rear suspension. The V8 has lowered both its fuel consumption and emissions by 20 percent compared to its predecessor.
Traditional hand crafted detailing marks the new Quattroporte’s cabin, while a longer wheel base adds legroom. It is available in four- and five-seat layouts.
Cabin luxury leaps forward technically, too, with features like the Maserati Touch Control screen, adjustable pedals (left hand drive only), reversing cameras and the optional 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, as well as WLAN-based WiFi and compatibility with most modern mobile phone systems.
The powerful engine and the large cabin are at the core of the Quattroporte’s design, dominated by a long, powerful nose and a concave Trident grille making it a true Maserati.
