Passion for automobiles is always in the air here in Dubai. Yet, November is when we officially get to celebrate it. The month is packed with great festivities for the motoring enthusiasts and car lovers – children included. Here is the full list of the fun that is part of the Dubai Motor Festival. The Dubai Motor Show 2015 is just a start to all that.

Dubai Motor Festival 2015 goes on from the 10th to 21st November, lasting exactly a week longer than the Motor Show itself. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown prince of Dubai, the Dubai Motor Festival will be held at various locations including the Dubai World Trade Centre, Meydan hotel and race course and Dubai Autodrome.

That is the tagline that sums up the calendar of events at the Dubai Motor Festival which gets kicked off with the largest of them all, the Dubai International Motor Show.

Motor Village

A whole weekend of motoring fun for the whole family is in the offing at Meydan, Nad Al Shiba. Old cars, latest gizmos, high-adrenaline action, photo opportunity with amazing cars and engaging competitions are on the cards on the first day while the super cars and luxury cars take the limelight on Saturday. Dubai Grand Parade, Marques d’Elegance and Best decorated National Day Car competitions are the chief attractions among them. The Marques d’Elegance competition gives owners of unique cars all over the GCC to showcase their prized automobile while the National Day Car awards the creatively decorated car, inspired by the National Day.

If Dubai is home to the world’s finest and most amazing cars, the Grand Parade is the best place to watch them together. Cars, bikes, trucks and may be ‘transformers’ take to the streets of Dubai as cheering car lovers take position all along the roads, and make for a huge and cheerful crowd at Meydan.

Red Bull Car Park Drift

In its third year, and second year at Meydan, the high-octane spectacle will see 16 lords of the drift from across the GCC raise fire and smoke for the ‘King of Drift’ title.

Ken Block kicks up some dust

Ken Block is a professional rally driver and winner of five X Games, with experience in motocross and snowboarding among other adrenaline-boosters. His talent gets converted into pure entertainment this weekend.

Supercar rides

Some of the world’s fastest and most luxurious – and needless to say most expensive – cars will be at your service, for you to experience their amazing ride along the streets of Dubai! If you spot one on the road, or waiting at a mall, flag it down!

Dubai International Rally

The final round of the Federation Internationale De L’Automobile (FIA) Middle East Rally Championship, the Rally has been held since the mid-eighties and is an important part of the Dubai sporting calendar.

Where and when: Dubai World Trade Centre flag off, 19 – 21 November

National Race Days at Dubai Autodrome

One weekend of motoring action at the Dubai Autodrome falls within the Motor Festival. Watch the NGK Racing Series featuring the Clip Cup and UAE Touring Car Championship, UAE Sportbike championship, FG 1000 Single Seater Championship and Radical Middle East Cup. Entry is free!
