Jaguar’s first ever electric vehicle will bring us another pace closer to an electrified automotive world. New all-electric I-Pace will be unveiled in a live global broadast on the 1st of March, at 6 pm GMT (10 pm UAE time), five days in advance of its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show on 6th March. The I-PACE will be the first all-electric SUV after Tesla Model X to turn on all the spotlights on itself and will suggest an important entry when it finally turns up in the Middle East, promising sustainable sports car performance, all-wheel-drive agility and five-seat SUV practicality. The I-Pace Concept showed up in 2016 and between then and now it has been rigorously tested across extremes of terrain and temperatures from -40°C to 40°C. The new electric vehicle has over 1.5 million test miles and a further 11,000 hours of rig simulations completed by more than 200 production prototypes. Another revolutionising feature is that the I-PACE can charge from zero to 80 per cent in 45 minutes using a DC 100kW rapid charger!
Designed and engineered by Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, the production of I-PACE will largely remain in the parent country but some of them will be built in Austria as part of a manufacturing partnership with Magna Steyr. I-PACE will arrive in selected MENA markets from late 2019 but will be widely available only in 2020.
