Porsche GT3 featuring international titans
Following a thrilling opening round where the podium racers were separated by almost negligible time differences, the second round of the championship featuring the third and fourth races of the twelve race season will take place at Dubai Autodrome on 9th and 10th December, 2016.
MRF Challenge featuring Junior Schumacher
The weekend also gives you the chance to witness the performance of rising stars Mick Schumacher, son of 7-time F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, and Harrison Newey, son of F1 designer and current Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin Adrian Newey. This is the final stop of MRF Challenge 2016, before it heads off to New Delhi and Chennai in india.
After an action packed season opener in Bahrain, the MRF Challenge 2016 comes to the Dubai Autodrome with 4 races scheduled to take place this weekend from December 8th to 10th. The FIA sanctioned MRF Challenge 2016 championship, will return to Dubai for the second consecutive year at the challenging 5.39km circuit. Mick Schumachercurrently leads the championship ahead of Ralf Aron, Joey Mawson and Harrison Newey. Several F4 and F3 champions will be in action in the race that features MRF Formula 2000 race cars, powered by a 2 litre Mountune Duratec engine with max power of 230 bhp and shod on MRF Z.L.O. tyres. They are considered to be the fastest of their kind in Asia.
Free Practice 1&2 will take place on Thursday, December 8. Qualifying and Race 1&2 will take place on Friday, December 9, with Race 3&4 taking place on Saturday, December 10.
Next Weekend at Yas Marina Circuit
Gulf 12 hours and F4 UAE Championship The spectacular weekends of racing continues at the home of the FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX. The sixth edition of the GULF 12 HOURS will be back at Yas on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th with 25 cars from 18 teams going head to head. The second round of the new F4 UAE Championship – the FIA-accredited young drivers’ competition launched in October this year will also take place during the weekend.
Split into two rounds of six hours’ racing each, in true endurance style, the ‘Gulf 12 hours’ race will consist of elements that run in daylight and under floodlights. The championship features formidable machines including GT3 cars, Lamborghini SuperTrofeo, GTX (Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Maserati Grantursimo MC and Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport) and Ligier JSP3 prototypesbest GT.
