Engine of the year: Ferrari V8

Ferrari’s 4.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine has won Best Performance Engine for the second time in the prestigious International Engine of the Year Awards, leaving behind several forced induction engines.

Ferrari’s thoroughbred dry-sump, flat-crank, 90-degree V8 also took the accolade in the above 4-litre category for the second time.

The same V8 is the heart and soul of the 458 Italia and 458 Spider.

Audi and hybrids create history at Le Mans

On June 18th, Audi brought in the first victory for hybrid vehicles at Le Mans when the Audi R18 e-tron quattro secured the two top spots. This is the eleventh success in total for Audi at Le Mans 24 Hours in which Audi R18 ultra completed one-two-three win of Audi Sport Team Joest.

On the 80th race of Le Mans 24 hours, AUDI AG has achieved another technological milestone in motorsport when the Audi R18 e-tron quattro – fitted with a hybrid drive – triumphed for the first time in history.

Dour Audi R 18 was in the finishing finalists in Audi's 11th success.

News for Jeep lovers: A baby is on the way

Amidst its revamp of body and soul, Jeep is introducing a new small SUV dubbed a baby Wrangler, due for delivery in mid 2014. Refreshment continues with the Cherokee that will be redesigned in late 2013 and (finally) a large quadrant of confusion will vanish as a single SUV will replace the Compass and Patriot 4x4s from late 2014.

Both the models were introduced in 2006 as 2007 models but haven’t found a footing yet.

 

 

The identity crises is now giving rise to a new identity. Wait till 2014.
