A Boxster more desirable than a 911? Before you snigger, see it for yourself at the Porsche Centre. For, the new Boxster has arrived in Dubai.
The new Boxster is driven by a 2.7 L engine that delivers 265hp - ten horsepower more than its larger displacement predecessor.
Considerably lower weight, longer wheelbase, a wider track and larger wheels significantly enhance the mid-engine sports car’s driving dynamics, underlining its claim as the best in its class. The fundamentally changed styling, including shorter overhangs, a forward-shifted windscreen, flatter silhouette and expressive edges all provide the Boxster with a fresh, contemporary look that is muscular and charming at once.
The 3.4-litre engine of the Boxster S now has an output of 315hp - five hp more than before.
In Porsche figures, the two-seater sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, while the Boxster S reaches the same speed in just 5.0 seconds. The superior performance is also backed by up to 15 per cent more fuel efficiency – it claims to cover a 100 km in less than eight litres of fuel! Both models feature a manual six-speed gearbox as standard, with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) or double clutch gearshift is available as an option.
The basic retail price for the new Porsche Boxster is AED 196,900. The Boxster S starts at AED 217,100. Now, that’s a great price to pay for killing looks from even those who are in the cockpit of a Carrera!
