Kaiyi X7 AWD and X7 PHEV SUV
Kaiyi, the young and innovative Chinese brand under the Chery umbrella, has launched two new SUV models – Kaiyi X7 AWD, powered by a petrol engine and Kaiyi X7 PHEV, a plug-in hybrid SUV. With its two variants, Kaiyi has underscored its commitment towards the UAE’s transition into cleaner mobility while continuing to serve those seeking conventional petrol-powered vehicles.

Kaiyi X7 AWD: Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and an advanced all-wheel-drive system. Output: 256 hp and 390 Nm of torque | 0-100 kmph – 6.9 seconds
Kaiyi X7 PHEV: A combination of 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery pack. EV range: Up to 150 km (CLTC cycle) Driving Modes: EV, Hybrid and Power Assist
One of the Middle East’s fastest-growing automotive markets, UAE has an estimated yearly sales of around 300,000 units, nearly half of which are SUVs. While the growing demand for technologically advanced and economically viable models have fixed the spotlight on Chinese brands, the slant towards hassle-free fuel efficiency has encouraged the co-existence of powertrain options. For those seeking conventional petrol-powered vehicles, Kaiyi offers models like E5 and X3 or the new X7 AWD.

The original M-Hero I REEV (range extender vehicle that uses petrol to fuel a generator, thus enabling it to be always driven by electric power) continues to sport its capability cloak with design quirks like the gear shifter shaped like aircraft handle, 326 mm military standard ground clearance, exceptional approach and departure angles. The 65.8 kWh battery produces a whopping 805 hp and 1050 Nm torque, yet promising a cross-country-class total range of 834 km.
